Mistakes in business, communication breakdowns, and substandard customer service are often caused by poor listening skills. Yet, most people can’t assess how well they listen or know how to listen and understand more effectively.
LISTENING: THE PERFECT GIFT™ is a participative workshop using relevant, real-life situations to learn and apply better-listening concepts. Attendees first receive a personalized listening assessment to raise awareness of listening needs. Then, they learn:
- The four patterns of listening behavior
- How to overcome obstacles to effective listening
- A three-part listening cycle that improves concentration and collaboration
- Questioning techniques that will help them listen for understanding.
Throughout the day, participants practice their new listening skills, receive helpful feedback, and develop a listening improvement plan to implement back on the job. Bottom line: They will be more productive when interacting with colleagues and customers the very next day.
